Use of funds
Where Phase 1 capital goes
Cassava
50 to 80 hectares at about NGN 1.5 million per hectare.
Maize
25 to 40 hectares at NGN 0.56 million to NGN 0.77 million per hectare.
Processing unit
A 10 tonne per day primary unit at NGN 58 million to NGN 63 million.
Allowance
A 20 percent allowance for machinery, storage, site works and contingency.
Together these components total NGN 165 million to NGN 244 million, within the Phase 1 budget.
Phase 2
Expansion
A larger investment of project debt, equipment finance, working capital and further equity, sized on Phase 1 results and feasibility. It covers the cocoa and cashew plantations, the remaining cassava and maize area, larger processing and storage, and the outgrower program.
Stage gates
Capital released only when each gate is met
Preparation
We plan to set up the project company and secure land with clear title before committing capital beyond preparation costs.
Phase 1
We aim for measured yields of at least 20 t/ha of cassava and 3 t/ha of maize over two seasons, and the processing unit running at 10 t/day.
Phase 2
We aim to secure offtake for most planned output and a supply plan before expanding.
